Abstract

SEGJ set up the advisory committee on the satndardization adhoc in 1999 in order to address the perceived demand for formal standards of geophysical survey. This manual was brushed up under advices of ASEG's geophysicists and published in English 4 years later. The committee continues to foster a common understanding of geophisical survey for engineers, clients and beginner. In this sumposium, the following issues will be presented.
1. History of the attempt of the standardization such as publication of the manuals in Japanese and English.
2. Knowledge and Issues got from the attempt.
3.
