Abstract
We developed a high-resolution multi-channel seismic data acquisition system and a shallow marine seismic source in order to apply the engineering site survey such as the mapping of basement in the foundation design of offshore structure, coastal and harbors construction, and the sitting of drilling platforms. The developed system is a portable PC-base data acquisition system embedded 24 bits and 8 channel high speed A/D board to record the acquired seismic data. Therefore, our system could be achieved the good data quality and the efficiency of data acquisition to be compared with an analogue survey system. We can make use of boomer source system and small size compressor-airgun system, which should be easily operated and handled in the shallow marine and small scaled site survey. The number of transducers in boomer source, piezoelectric transducer of high electrical power supply, can be easily changed to improve the field applicability according to water depth, survey condition and purpose, while chamber reducer can be available in the airgun system. The developed our system was tested by varying field data acquisition parameters such as source-receiver array geometry, offset, and the number of the transducer. We could set up an optimal acquisition parameter after comparing the acquired seismic data. Finally, the typical seismic processing sequence which is included swell filtering, band-pass filtering, predictive deconvolution was applied to the obtained seismic data in order to enhance the data quality and image resolution.
