Growth of Membership


The membership of SEGJ comprises Honorary Members, Active Members, Student Members, and Corporate Members.

Active Members include overseas residents and foreign members. The total number of Active and Student Members is 1598 (as of 1998). This is about 4 times the number at the foundation time. They are actively engaged in geophysical and geochemical explorations.

Corporate Members, 182 companies in 1998, are organizations who are interested in supporting the Society. This amounts to about 10 times the number at the foundation time.

Honorary Members are nominated in consideration of their outstanding contributions to geophysical exploration. Twenty five Honorary Members as of July 1998 are:
